Please contact the office for more information. After committing her life to God, Teresa took on the reformation of the Carmelite Order. The foundation stone of Holy Angels&#8217; School was laid on 10 September by Archbishop Duhig<\/li>\n<li>1952\u00a0Foundation stone laid for Jellicoe Street Church.<\/li>\n<li>1955\u00a0Bishop Brennen blessed and opened a new school building adjacent to Mackenzie Street. Holy Angles became known as Mater Dei.<\/li>\n<li>1956\u00a0Secondary School for girls opened (in old church).<\/li>\n<li>1957\u00a0New Parish of St Theresa&#8217;s was formed.<\/li>\n<li>1964\u00a0New Secondary School was founded<\/li>\n<li>1974\u00a0Secondary School was closed<\/li>\n<li>1976\u00a0A hail storm caused irreparable damage to the original Holy Angels&#8217; Church\/School and it was removed from the grounds<\/li>\n<li>1978\u00a0Mons P J Doyle appointed St Theresa&#8217;s Parish Priest<\/li>\n<li>1979\u00a0Alterations to St Theresa&#8217;s Church and construction of a new presbytery.<\/li>\n<li>1980\u00a0The parish school of Our Lady Help of Christians was closed.<\/li>\n<li>1982\u00a0Sisters of the Good Samaritan withdrew from Mater Dei School<\/li>\n<li>1983\u00a0Change of parish boundaries. Mater Dei came under the pastoral care of St Theresa&#8217;s Parish.<\/li>\n<li>1992\u00a0Mater Dei&#8217;s 75th Anniversary<\/li>\n<li>1992\u00a0St Theresa&#8217;s Church 40th Anniversary<\/li>\n<li>1992\u00a0Mons Doyle&#8217;s 40th Anniversary of Priesthood.<\/li>\n<li>1993\u00a0Major School Fire destroying the library and some classrooms<\/li>\n<li>1993\u00a0The convent was sold for removal<\/li>\n<li>1997\u00a0Purchase of 47 Curzon and 26 Campbell Streets. Sold St Theresa&#8217;s Church and Presbytery. Masses held at TAFE<\/li>\n<li>1998\u00a0Purchase of 55 Curzon Street Property for parish use. Construction of the St Theresa&#8217;s Parish Centre.<\/li>\n<li>1999\u00a0First Anniversary celebrations.<\/li>\n<li>2001\u00a0Monsignor\u2019s Pat Doyle and Stan Skehan die.<\/li>\n<li>2002 Fr O\u2019Keefe appointed Parish Priest<\/li>\n<li>2002\u00a0Parish stopped at Mt Kynoch<\/li>\n<li>2007\u00a0Jubilee Celebration 75 years<\/li>\n<li>2007\u00a0Fr Tony O&#8217;Keefe died 15 April<\/li>\n<li>2008\u00a0Fr Brian Noonan became Parish Priest<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>St Theresa&#8217;s Catholic Parish is a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming community committed to living and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
